“What are you even talking about?” Hajime asks, desperately trying to make sense of his words.
Oikawa looks at him, his brown eyes firm and full of love. It’s barely masking the fear behind them, but Hajime feels a little bit of hope that maybe they’ll be alright. If they believe it hard enough. “We fight, for every second we get to spend with each other. Whether it’s two minutes, or two days, we don’t give that up.”
Hajime's world had dimmed when Oikawa had disappeared. When he suddenly returns, Hajime has no choice but to follow him out into the darkness.

A hand grabs onto his chin, the touch gentle and warm as Hajime tilts his face up by the tips of his fingers. “Then I never would have met you,” he says, and he makes it sound so easy, Tooru wants to believe it is for a moment.
“Maybe that would have been for the better.” He swallows hard around the lump in his throat. He doesn’t look Hajime in the eye—he’s not quite good at lying to him.
“Yeah, maybe,” Hajime says, a lightness to his voice. Tooru’s heart nearly sinks into the concrete. “But I’m a selfish man, and I don’t want to think about a world where I don’t know you exist.”
While his methods were a little unconventional—and highly illegal—Hajime was determined to leave his mark on the world in whatever way he could and Tooru had decided a long time ago that he would follow him anywhere, to hell and back if needed.

The spark of awareness ignites and Shouyou blinks his eyes open again fully, humming in response to his name. Kageyama doesn’t reply, as he’s still completely asleep, shuffling slightly as his breaths start to catch in the beginnings of snores.
