    Summary

"The Broken Digital Circus" is a timeline split following Episode 6 of The Amazing Digital Circus.

Following the Awards Show, Caine has lost the plot and has come to the realization that Jax and Pomni are tearing apart his show and his story.

To correct this, Caine has sent Jax and Pomni into their own off-shoot server, having far more and far deadlier games for his favorite headaches.

With Jax and Pomni gone and Caine becoming less and less stable in the circus, the rest of the cast have to learn to either move on, let go, or find their missing friends.

    Summary

Pomni hit the ground hard enough to knock the wind out of her. She gasped for air, coughing a few times, the cold of the ground helping to orient her. There were spots in her vision and she winced at the sharp throb in her skull.

Finally, her lungs filled with air and her eyes were able to open and she saw…what the hell was she looking at? Pomni was on the ground, on her back, and in front of her was some kind of…pod? Chamber? The front door had unlatched and was currently wide open, the clamps that had previously kept her secured in place open and empty, a headset melded to the headrest. A headset that was distinctly empty…because her head was attached to her body…on the ground— holy shit is she real?!

    Summary

✧ “Look… thanks. For… dragging me back.” The words came out grudging, like they tasted bad. “But don’t make a habit of it. I’m still me. Still don’t need saving.”

“I know,” Pomni said, almost gentle. “I’ve known that since day one. But you’re also the one who came back the second you saw me. So maybe stop pretending you don’t care who shows up for you.” ✧

After one too many brutal adventures leaves Jax and Pomni both cracked open, Jax can’t keep dodging her anymore. The avoidance shatters and they’re stuck in shared silence. In that silence the scariest glitch hits them both, that they actually need each other to keep from falling apart completely.

    A very slow burn.

    Summary

“I believe we once made a bargain, sire. Do you recall it?”

When Lucifer only blinked up at him, dark brows pinching in a tiny furrow of confusion, Alastor's smile twitched. He dipped into his power and let his eyes close, calling up a faint trickle of his strength – just enough to set the scar on his forehead glowing.

When he opened his eyes, Lucifer's expression had softened. One of his hands left Alastor's hip, reaching up to sweep his bangs aside.

“I remember these. Your death marks,” Lucifer murmured, tilting his head and squinting one eye, clearly still struggling to recollect the rest of that particular situation. “Remind me what you asked for, in exchange for showing them to me?”

    Summary

“Are you sure you're up for this?”

Lucifer had asked that question about ten times in the span of twelve minutes – and the only reason it wasn't at least once every sixty seconds was thanks to the fact that Charlie had briefly interrupted him, panicking over the realisation that she couldn't find her binder.

Alastor had sent a shadow coiling under the coffee table without even needing to look, presenting the missing binder to Charlie without comment. Which was rather generous, in his opinion – because there were plenty of comments he could have made about the rainbow stickers and drawings of little stick figures with horns and tails, holding hands outside of what could only be the pearly gates.
