“Not a good morning,” Wylan grumbled, staring at Kaz who was curled on the couch beside Matthias, everybody looked small compared to him. Kaz just looked sad and miserable, in all his black clothes and noticeable eye bags and gauntness. “Jesper Fahey needs to fall in a ditch, I’ve been at school for two minutes.”
“I don’t get it, he seems so nice.” Matthias hadn’t had a real conversation with Jesper, but he’d been in classes with him, and he seemed like such a stand-up guy.
“He’s a good actor.” Kaz moved like he was going to stand up and Matthias handed over his cane without looking. “A little too good. I’ve got a ditch if you’ve got a timeslot in mind.”

Wylan’s been working here for a few months now with Nina, Matthias, and the owner, Kaz, and it's largely uneventful. Until, on a random Wednesday, two people come in and completely change Wylan's life.

Summary
The ship rocked gently, and outside the window he could hear the waves crashing against the hull.
He didn't like the sea and he hated feeling like this, restless and anxious. But he missed her. He missed her so much, and he hated not knowing where she was or if she was okay. If that was the price he had to pay for looking for her, then so be it.
Kaz had always been cautious in his life. He had learnt the hard way that carelessness could be fatal. And yet he was reckless when it came to Inej. He was helpless when it came to her.
