Connor had pored over the chapters and verses which stressed the importance of the colours when he was younger, and they were the pages which his worn copy of the book fell to naturally. The soulmark was divinely ordained eternal love, chosen and cultivated by Heavenly Father and affirmed through faith. It was important, your soulbond - it was meaningful.

That’s why Elder Price is safe to like, is safe to dote over, is safe to fantasize about, because he can learn to feel more comfortable with his – with his alternate thoughts, if you will, without any fear of his thoughts being reciprocated. Without his reoccurring fear that any close bond he forms with a man will crumble in on itself due to his own discomfort and self-hatred just like it did with Steve.
He learns that he shouldn't love boys years before he realizes he does, he learns that he doesn't love himself years before he realizes he should, and he learns that he can do both less than one year after he meets Elder Price.
(Spans Elder McKinley's life from age five to twenty. Mostly written because I was sad there wasn't an angsty Turn It Off reprise. Finished 2.24am).
Edit 16/03/2020: Book of Mormon London closed on the 5th anniversary of when I first saw it. What strange times we live in. Stay safe, everyone.
Edit 02/10/2024: Gavin Creel wasn't my OG Price, but he was a joy to me all the same. A great loss at far too young.
