Summary
The summer before the sinking of the Titanic, a 19-year-old Thomas watches the dashing Duke of Crowborough from afar at a party held at Crawley House. The Duke is a prize to be won, and Thomas enjoys the entertainment. After the last of the guests finally go to bed in the early hours the following morning, Thomas goes up, too—at the invitation of the Duke, who chose a footman over any of the eligible young ladies vying for his attention.
