“Your thoughts are so loud,” Hajime mumbled beside him, his voice lazy with exhaustion that Oikawa couldn’t relate to.
“Sorry, must be the fact that I’m sleeping shirtless next to a stranger in a strange house in the middle of nowhere,” Oikawa bit back instinctually.
Hajime just snorted at him, as if he was making a joke. “‘S’not that bad. Who knows? Maybe a bit of the country life could do you some good.”
“Yeah? According to who?”
“Well you did run away from home,” Hajime pointed out, and, well, yeah, Oikawa couldn’t really argue with that point. “B’sides, doesn’t seem like life has treated you too kindly so far. Change of scenery might not be the worst thing in the world.”

Or: Oikawa Tooru, J-Pop idol extraordinaire and the most popular celebrity in the country, is at his absolute wits end with how his life has turned out. “I don’t want to be bald, dumbass. I just want to shave my head,” he retorts, and Oikawa’s teeth show at the successful jibe. It might’ve looked aggressive if pointed at anyone but him.
“Will you do it for me?” Iwaizumi’s mouth is still dry. He makes a conscious effort to wet his lips.
OIkawa blinks. He slides his glasses off his nose, folding them and gently placing them on his desktop. “Are you sure?”
There is an urgent part of Iwaizumi that wants to say, I trust you. He wants to say it out loud but he doesn’t know if Oikawa wants to hear it- if it’s the right time or the wrong time or if there will ever be a time at all. All he knows is that time is the very thing he lacks, and every second spent wasted he might never get back.

“Really?” Hajime questions. He reaches a hand out, and Oikawa flinches away out of reflex. The color of Iwaizumi’s arm reminds him of merciless pain. “Then why can’t I touch you, Tooru?”
Oikawa feels his hands burn. He flexes them to stop the shaking, ignoring the pain.
“Why won’t you look at me like you used to?” Hajime asks.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“Don’t.” Hajime’s voice is sharp, and it digs into Oikawa’s skin like a thousand needles. He thinks he may be collapsing, but he’s not sure. “Don’t do that with me. Not right now.”
Or, Oikawa loves Iwaizumi. And he's never been more ruined.

All at once, tears gather in Gon’s eyes, and he begins to tremble, so violently that Killua can see it from across the kitchen.
'What right do I have to that?' Gon all but shouts, his voice breaking. 'People are being hurt and I’m one of the few people who can actually do something about it, so what right do I have to relax? The people who are in trouble aren’t getting to relax! Not even for a moment! Why should I get that luxury?'"
