Unlike normal people — you're weird enough to convince yourself that a crush on him is logical and asking him to marry you is a rational life choice, so when House and Cuddy implode spectacularly, you approach him.
He agrees.
You did not expect him to immediately announce it, and ask the nurses to keep a box of tissues ready for Cuddy.
You did not expect him to immediately tell every single person in the hospital you like to roleplay as nurse and him a doctor during sex. Especially since you haven't had sex (yet).

Over the years, House had watched this compulsion ruin Wilson’s marriages, friendships, and even his self-respect. Everyone knew Wilson had a Florence Nightingale flare about him, an almost pathetic need to care for the broken.

Finicky, of course. But then I thought to myself, hm!” He gave Wilson’s shoulder a squeeze, angled himself so he could whisper. “One thing cats are is clean. They piss exactly where they should. But you, James Wilson, you’re anything but. You do anything but.”
After a few too many unfortunate accidents, House decides to train Wilson.
