Summary
Maybe, Haru catches on to his distaste. Or maybe, Haru just wants to see his face. But, whatever the reason, the inspector turns him around to have a look— and fuck, maybe that’s not the best decision right now. He must look like shit — and Daisuke’s being very considerate with the word.
“Daisuke,” a pause, and fingers — warm and so comforting — brush the sensitive skin under his eyes, caressing softly. Haru looks concerned, “Your eyes are red.”
Are they now? He thinks, bitterly.
“Allergies.”
It’s close to the truth. Allergies or jealousy — the same fucking thing. Both of them are equally frustrating.
(Or, a proposal au. Four times, Daisuke thinks that he's helping Haru to propose to someone else, and one time, he doesn't.)

Summary
Kambe trusts him enough to bring him here; to show him this special place dear to his very existence ━ and at the thought of this, Haru’s heart squeezes like an accordion.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Kambe’s voice is barely above a whisper, his warm breaths materializing in the thin, cold air as white smokey, puffs; and Haru has to agree. It’s a beautiful view, alright ━ with endless snow-covered pine trees; sparkly city lights in the distance, a pearly moon hung in the starless, winter sky ━ ah, it's picture-perfect sight. Worthy to be on the front page of a wildlife magazine.
But, when he says “Yes, it is”, Haru isn’t looking at the scenery.
Cerulean orbs find his golden eyes in amusement. Kambe chuckles.
“I might suggest looking at a mirror.”
Smooth
A slightly canon-divergent au, in which Daisuke is awkward with feelings, and even more awkward with his actions; but even then, Haru finds himself falling hard for this troublesome millionaire.

Summary
When the inspector stepped a foot inside of the spacious conference room (earning himself curious and concerned looks from his colleagues – Haru paid them no mind), with eyes stormy and desperate and instantly targeting the smaller back of the man standing right in front of him – his breath hitched, and once again, his arms ached for the perfect fit.
He could not handle another disappointing hug. Not one more.
“Oi.”
And the moment, ocean blue eyes met with amber orbs, no more confirmation was needed (for Haru knew those pretty, pretty things all too well).
He suddenly lunged forwards. With a smile that shone like million stars – and that made a certain someone feel like the luckiest person on earth.
(Because he belonged to this beautiful, beautiful inspector).
A canon-divergent au, in which Daisuke leaves for Hong Kong, and during his absence, Haru finds himself suffering from an incurable disease of the heart – a fucking lovesickness.

“Is someone trying to woo the great Kambe Daisuke?”
Daisuke blinked. Now, he was confused.
“What do you mean?” He looked down at the flower again and his fingers absentmindedly caressed the soft petals, admiring the way the telepathic red petals decorated the black center of the blossom, like small, red shoulders protecting their queen. By the shape of the flower, it looked like a tulip – Daisuke was not too well-versed when it came to flowers, surprise, surprise – but he was right when Kamei pointed it out.
“This flower is a red tulip,” Kamei pointed his finger towards the flower, a playful grin playing on his face. He felt proud of himself that he knew something the older detective did not – and that showed clearly on his face (Daisuke’s urge to smack him only got stronger). “It means a declaration of love.”
What?
“Someone is proclaiming their feelings for you. Kambe-san.”
Daisuke sputtered.
Or, a secret admirer au, in which Daisuke anonymously begins to receive different flowers every other week. Each flower makes him fall a little bit more in love with this mysterious admirer.
