The quiet of the entire atelier bears its weight on Olruggio’s shoulders. Even the gold tassel dangling from his cap beside him seems to twinkle at his discontent.
Maybe it’s time for a break. A much-needed one, as he’s sure someone else would say.A gentle knock echoes in the room. An all too familiar head pops through the doorway.
“Of course you’re still awake.”
Qifrey slides into the room, the heavy door creaking behind him. For a brief second, the weight that’s ever present on Olruggio’s shoulders seems to lighten — or maybe it’s just the fluttering in his chest.
Or: Qifrey always finds his way back to Olruggio. For Olruggio's sake and his own.

“Curious… You bear a mark of Khaenri’ah and yet you say you’re only curious. How should I believe you.”
“I mean you no harm. If you want you never have to talk to me again. To be perfectly honest, I was hoping to speak to you about anything you want just to satisfy my curiosity.”
Underneath the anxiety swelling in his chest, Kaeya can’t deny this other boy has struck his curiosity as well. A strange boy that no one knows anything about coming to live with Mondstadt’s resident witch. And now Kaeya knows he’s somehow connected to Khaenri’ah just like him.
Kaeya sighs, “What’s your name?”
The boy stretches his hand out towards Kaeya. “Albedo. My name is Albedo.”
Or: Albedo is left in Mondstadt as a child. Him and Kaeya grow together over the years

Never one to let the quiet last too long, Thoma clears his throat. “We have a lot of good memories, don’t we?”
“Yes. More than I can recall.” Diluc’s shoulders tense, chest heaving under a deep breath.
“I can’t wait to have even more memories we can share. Some of my favourite memories are from here and I don’t doubt that I’ll have even more here in the years to come.”
Diluc hums, plucking a bright red grape hanging from a vine. He brushes it off on his jacket before offering it to Thoma. A smile curls at Diluc’s lips. “Here’s to many more shared moments.”
(Or: Thoma visits Mondstadt on behalf of the Kamisatos and is reminded of his childhood crush on Diluc)

Despite the annoyance gripping at him, Gorou can’t help but straighten up, his shoulders set back and chin pointed forward. “I haven’t lost a sparring session to any of the soldiers here on Watatsumi island.”
“Fight me!” Itto bounces forward, light on his feet for someone of his stature.

Kaeya links his pinky with Albedo’s, the smallest touch to remind each other they’re slightly less alone in the world. Albedo’s hand is warm despite the cold weather.
“Are you sure you aren’t needed anywhere else tonight? Our precious lead alchemist has been busy lately,” Kaeya muses.
Albedo shakes his head, lightly tugging Kaeya to start walking with him. “I have no other obligations. The reason I might’ve seemed busier than usual is because I wanted to be sure no work would stop me from being with you tonight.”
(Or: Kaeya intends to spend his birthday with a certain chief alchemist. His brother has other plans.)

Clenching his fists, Diluc leans away for a second, scanning the few stragglers seated around the tavern. He clears his throat, tossing his head to shake his hair out of his face. “I actually wanted to ask you for a favour.”
After a pause, Kaeya takes a sip of his drink. His hand shakes as he sets it down. “A favour? What would Master Diluc need from me?”
