Nasir continues with a sigh. “It seems that the Acting Grand Sage intends to decline our request for funding.”
“Ah. That’s… unfortunate.” Kaveh speaks slowly, carefully concealing his initial reaction. This isn’t the first he’s heard of this, but he didn’t consider it to be an actual, real possibility. He’s both shocked and utterly unsurprised at the same time. “But what does that have to do with me, specifically?”
“You know the Acting Grand Sage, do you not?”
A simple question with a complicated answer.
Kaveh is tasked with securing the funding for Kshahrewar from the Acting Grand Sage. Things get complicated.

The thought is a novel one when he first entertains it, but it is also persistent. The parameters of what he is expected to accomplish allow him a certain… flexibility. Certainly, a shinobi must always be able to respond to unusual circumstances when on a mission. Observation and proactive response are key to success.
This mission, however, requires a degree of initiative that feels unfamiliar. It isn’t an unpleasant feeling, but it itches. Almost.

Denji groans and tips his head back. “Nah, dude,” he says. “It’s not a love letter. That makes it sound all girly and shit.” He pops a fry into his mouth, speaking around it. “Let’s call it a letter of appreciation. To let this person know that I… care about them.”
“Sounds exactly like a love letter.”
Denji and Yoshida strike up an unlikely friendship, passing notes back and forth in class. Eventually, the notes change from light-hearted and friendly to something more serious... and maybe just a little bit romantic?
