Reasonable, responsible, reliable—not that he specifically considered himself a fanatic of adjectives that started with the letter ‘R’, but his family, friends and colleagues all seemed to find great enjoyment in using them to refer to him.
He had been called ravishing that time he wore that dark-blue suit he actually found extremely itchy, respectful when he had met his omega’s relatives for the first time, and receptive when he had given the right answers during his lectures.
When he laughed or was excited he had been said to be radiant and rambunctious. When he said something stupid for the 50th time in one evening, his friends screamed that he was ridiculous. When his head was nested deep between Nico’s legs, he was ravenous.
Will Solace liked to think himself a rational man. Clearly, he hadn’t taken into account that when you were an alpha and your pregnant boyfriend was looking gorgeously gorgeous, horniness and irrationality came together holding hands.

Chris swallows. He already doesn't like the way this is going and his mind is going a mile a minute with questions that he can't ask just yet. He keeps his expression neutral, but his toes curl in his boots and his nails dig impossibly deeper into the leather.
"I'm sending your team. All the information you need is in there plus whatever else you manage to find before you fly out in seventy-two hours. Any questions?"
O'Brian nods to the folder sitting in front of him, unassuming and definitely not holding enough information going off how thick it is.
Chris' eye twitches. "A few days? Sir, with all due respect, if the agent is missing now shouldn't we go out there now?"
"The agent has been MIA for ten days, Redfield."

Chris studies Leon’s expression. It stays carefully neutral, but it clashes with how tense his body grows.
“I said a lot of things. You’ll have to be more specific,” says Leon casually.
“How you were tired of fighting, how you didn’t see the point of it all,” says Chris, repeating Leon’s previous words.
Leon clicks his tongue and finally averts his baby blue eyes as he grimaces. “Forget I said that. I was drunk off my ass. It was the booze talking.”
Chris scoffs. “Leon, come on. Don’t bullshit me,” he says firmly.
