Nancy Wheeler’s 6-Step Plan to Revitalize Eddie Munson’s Image in Hawkins Society:
1. Clear Eddie’s name of all murder and/or otherwise criminal allegations (crossed off on April 2nd thanks to Doctor Owens and his government creeps)
2. Get Eddie graduated (crossed off May 22nd and accomplished thanks to the combined efforts of Nancy, Robin, and Jeff)
3. Find Eddie gainful employment (crossed off on June 4th after one really long and uncomfortable date with Nancy convinced Keith to use his connections at the arcade)
4. Get Eddie involved in volunteer work (crossed off on July 25th when, after a lot of resistance, they finally convinced Eddie to join Claudia when she goes to the soup kitchen on Wednesdays and, after even more resistance, convinced the church ladies to let him stick around)
5. De-scruffify Eddie’s appearance (still in progress because he refuses to stop using that god-awful 3-in-1 shampoo no matter how much Steve and Nancy beg and plead)
6. Use Steve’s social capital to elevate Eddie’s social standing (still in progress)--

Except when he dumped his backpack on the floor and sat at the bench, Steve shot him a look that flicked through expressions faster than Eddie could track them. In the mix he saw surprise, anger, desire, fear. Eddie couldn’t have really described where it landed either. All he knew was that it was cold and threatening.
Damn, what had Eddie done to piss this guy off?
Everything about Steve was pristine, from his perfect hair to his soft-looking polo shirt to his pressed khakis. Maybe Eddie’s decidedly less refined appearance was aggravating to him. Well, Eddie had pissed people off for less. He could live with it if the most gorgeous guy to ever exist didn’t like him. He wasn’t happy about it, but he could live with it.

Eddie hangs out by the door while Harrington leans on the desk to ask the secretaries about some form or another. They trip over themselves to help him out. Goddamn Harrington getting all the middle-aged ladies in a 30-mile radius to swoon over him. It’s unreal.
Not that Eddie doesn’t get it. Harrington is objectively beautiful. He’s also charismatic, great with the students, kind of funny. And on top of that, he has the audacity to be a nice person? Eddie can’t say he really blames the local moms for getting their panties in a twist.
Not that Eddie would ever be into Harrington. Imagine the mess.
