Summary
On a trip to China, Jingyi learns about the family he never sees and connects with his great uncle.
~~~
‘You should practice your Chinese with your tang-ge,” Lan Qiren says, casually slipping the correct Chinese term for cousin into their conversation. “It’s a shame that Lan Zhan doesn’t converse in Chinese with you.”“We speak Chinese at home,” Jingyi is quick to defend, even though the eclectic mixture of Chinglish they use at home is most definitely not what his shugong means by “speaking Chinese.”
Bakura and Ryou-centric role reversal AU: Bakura’s life takes a turn for the strange when he steals a weird piece of jewelry. Not that spending his days shoplifting purses for Malik’s knock-off handbag crime empire and his evenings making bets on card games was necessarily normal. It’s just that now he also has a weirdly polite ghost to worry about.
Summary
Sometimes it still scares you what you can get used to, in this world. By now, you welcome the sting of familiar fear — it keeps you sharp. And it means there's still enough of you left to feel afraid of what you're becoming.
or:
An anxious burnout wakes up as a nameless moray mer, one of many spawned and doomed to die. They quickly learn the price of compassion and of company in the Coral Sea, and exactly what they’re willing to pay for both. The cost of their burgeoning inhumanity is harder to come to terms with... but at least they aren’t alone for it.
or:
The self-proclaimed eldest Leech just wants to live quietly, please!! Life, family, and his own ‘interesting value’ conspire against him. Can’t someone humbly pursue a magic thesis and internally weep over their degrading morality in peace?? Ah, at least they have their very cute and kinda scary genius trio to dote on… Yes, hurry up and graduate to take responsibility for this shady ‘family business’, won’t you!? Enabling— um, cheering you on mightily! ( ु⁎ᴗ.ᴗ⁎)ु.｡oO
