Summary

“Marinette,” he said.
“Adrien,” she said.
“I’m real drunk right now,” he said up at the sky, and she laughed. He smiled a little bit, and then he looked down at her, and her breath caught in her throat. He was still smiling, but it was the sort of smile that priests had at funerals, grieved and holy. “So I’m going to ask. What if we just did it?”
She didn’t even have to ask.
“What if- what if we just did it? I mean, can we not?” he asked her, his shoulders drawing up, his posture sloping towards her, bending to her like he was begging. “I think- I think after everything we’ve done, after how it feels to be with you- I think maybe we should. Can we?”
It’s not like this hadn’t come up before, it was just that this was the first time he was so honest about it, the first time he looked her in the eyes and seemed like he wanted a real answer.
And from the way his face was falling, he was getting it. She hadn’t even opened her mouth.
