Summary
Fifty-nine years ago, the God-King Keter committed the Heresy: he lured three of his fellow sephirot into a trap, killed them, and poisoned the Worldtree Malkuth. And then he disappeared.
Malkuth now lays dying, with just months to live, calling down holy angels on its people as divine retribution. The poison has seeped into the lands—crops fail, plagues run rampant, rivers go dry and then flood whole cities in the space of an afternoon. The Holy City of Ophir has shuttered its doors in a last bid to protect its faithful, clerics and deacons working tirelessly to find some way to delay the inevitable. The Canaan Laboratories have remained underground, their secret projects accelerated, their doomsday clocks ticking down to midnight. In the forests of the northwest, the Nephilim Cults have fractured into hopeless infighting, still waiting on some sign of their long awaited salvation. To the east lies the city-state of Aziah, its Queen liquidating her treasury to make her citizens comfortable while the world burns down around them.
It didn’t have to end like this: ten years ago, there were four adventurers who found the Truth. And ten years ago, they vanished, never to be heard from again.

Soulmates are a simple concept: when you and your fated partner touch for the first time, a floral soulmark will appear on your wrist, binding you and they together for eternity. At least, that's how it ought to work. Neither Catherine nor Shamir have found things to be that straightforward.

A necromantic death is too good for me. This must be done by human hands.

"Yeah, so... That's clearly not the package we were waiting for." Zoey says slowly, blinking like she’s not entirely sure her eyes are working right.
"Yep, definitely not." Rumi echoes, her voice flat but her eyes locked on the opened cardboard box with the exact expression of someone watching a bomb tick. Her mouth hangs slightly open.
They're standing in the middle of the living room, looming over the coffee table where the box had been set down. Inside, nestled in brown packing paper, is a smaller, sleeker box. Its front is taken up by a glossy, life-size picture of what’s inside, and it leaves very little to the imagination. It’s… anatomically detailed. Almost offensively so.
OR
Rumi and Zoey accidentally open a package meant for Mira, discover something very realistic (and hot) inside, and watch her get extremely flustered. Which, naturally, only leaves them with one logical next step: tease her until she breaks.

It's been a few months since Byleth and Edelgard reconciled, but there are still a lot of things they're working out: how to be around each other, how to heal, how to trust again. As difficult as it is, Edelgard's trying hard to adhere to boundaries. She knows better than to go to the palace training grounds, where Byleth spends every spare moment of her days. She knows better than to challenge her to a duel, of all things, even if it is just for practice. She knows better than to let herself get carried away by her love, her hurt, and her misery.
