Summary
Phil Coulson should have the perfect life. Loki didn't manage to kill him, despite trying pretty hard. He's official SHIELD liaison to The Avengers, which has to be one of the coolest jobs in the world even if it is often crazy. He's friends with gods, super-soldiers and geniuses, lives in a state-of-the-art tower run by a scarily clever AI and gets to have regular, hot, no-strings-attached sex with one of his best friends, Clint Barton. It should be perfect.
So why isn’t it?
Because you're not supposed to fall for your fuck-buddy and Phil very much has. Hard.
Because Clint doesn’t feel the same way about him.
Because he can’t do, he would have said something by now (wouldn’t he?)
Because Phil needs to keep his feelings to himself or risk losing everything.And Because Tony has a new obsession that’s threatening to take over life at the Tower and while it’s ridiculous, for Phil it all feels a lot too…personal.
Pining, angst, sex and fanboy shenanigans. Someone really needs to use their words.

OR
At his age, Phil Coulson didn't expect to re-examine anything in his life with that level of detail. Then again, Barton is involved and all of Phil's plans don't usually survive him swanning in on a crumbling rooftop anyway.

Summary
Agent Phil Coulson of SHIELD is reluctantly heading home for his high school reunion, at the request of an old friend. Natasha Romanov is playing the part of his girlfriend, even though she’s not. Clint Barton’s shown up with his bike, his bass, and a surprising knowledge of bluegrass. To complicate matters, Phil's parents wish he’d just settle down, Natasha has a hidden agenda, Clint ends up aiding and abetting juvenile delinquency, and the town in general is extraordinarily concerned with alien carp.
