The inquisitor had convinced him to give up on bringing down the Veil. In the end, Morrigan had turned into a bird and flew away. The inquisitor had returned to her life with her husband, Cullen.

    But Rook felt as if she never left, her heart breaking when she watched Solas turn around to enter the breach consigned to eternity alone. For the very briefest moment, she had an impulse to go with him. How could she, how could anyone do that to him?

    She was a fool.

    And then Solas had turned at the last moment and said, “Thank you, Rook.” before disappearing from view.

    It was at that moment that Rook knew she would never be free of him.

    Even if they found a way to break their blood bond, she would never be free."
