This was inspired by a post by the illustrious aroace-get-out-of-my-face on Tumblr dot com who was bemoaning the lack of 'terrible handlebar mustache' Stan and Ford reunion fics. While this isn't a fancy AU, but more of a "What If?" scenario, it wouldn't leave me alone until I got it out of me.
Since this got posted there first, the reviews are in, and to quote my lovely mutual:

These are a collection of one shots I have written over the last few months. I first got back into writing ironically posting on TikTok; but I have improved upon these works since then (just in case you find any of these familiar.)
I hope to be adding to the list while working on my long form Fiddlestan work-in-progress so that I don't become stagnant when I need a break. Most importantly: you don't have to read them in order- they are all independent of each other :)

My take on the Mystery Trio AU! (I am not great at summaries so bear with me.)
"It was the 80's, Dipper"
Timeline is moved up a couple notches: Stan (still broke, love starved, and wanting to make up with his estranged brother) arrives in GF in late November vs February(?). Fiddleford hasn't lost his (entire) mind yet, so that's a plus! (But is he good at hiding his trauma or is Ford just oblivious?) Ford is...going through it (and doing a bad job at covering it up).
Many things change, but many things stay the same (sorry in advance).
