I suddenly felt a sharp and intense pain up my spine. I turned white and shut my eyes real tight and gripped the sheets.
"Hey, Pone, you okay?" I gave Dallas a small nod.
"I'm okay." I said in the loudest voice I could muster without it hurting so much. The pain subsided, and I was just left with the pain from my burns.

No one in our gang would knock, as we left the door unlocked, and no polite person would knock that hard.

He needed to write one paragraph on how a character was feeling, but he couldn't do it. He was frustrated and zoning out when he suddenly felt sick. He ran to the bathroom and puked his guts out.
Darry charged in at the noise, and immediately reeled at the smell.
"Ponyboy, is that... ALCOHOL?!" Darry was shocked.

It was Ponyboy. Clutching Johnny's switchblade like his life depended on it, shaking, staring at the sharp red-stained edge. Wait, red-stained? He looked behind Ponyboy and saw a pair of ankles. He scooted forward so he could see behind the fountain and it was Bob. The rotten, drunken Soc who had almost drowned him. Stabbed in the gut, lying on his back. He looked asleep, peaceful almost.

At the fountain, Johnny gets drowned and Ponyboy is left with a choice when he sees Johnny's switchblade lying on the ground, glistening in the moonlight.
