Summary
A new captain has arrived to replace the tyrannical Vicent Gerard; everyone expects him to be just like his predecessor—sexist, homophobic, racist, and discriminatory. But when Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash steps out of the truck cab—pointing out exactly what the station needs—the crew of the 118 is taken aback. Yet, that isn't all. Captain Nash comes with a surprise in tow: a 23-year-old—standing 5'10" with a lean, toned physique, curly blonde hair, blue eyes, an "angel's kiss" birthmark above his left eyebrow, a dazzling smile, and the personality of a golden retriever—his son, Evan Robert Nash.

Summary
Buck is back at the 118.
Physically, at least.
After everything that happened, things between him and the family he once considered his own are worse than ever. They barely speak to him, and every attempt Buck makes to find his way back to them is met with distance. So he keeps his head down. He works. He takes extra shifts. He tries to prove that he still belongs. But while everyone is busy ignoring him, Buck's health begins to deteriorate.
What he thinks is stress turns into something far more serious. A doctor's appointment changes everything when Buck is diagnosed with leukemia. And suddenly, the one thing he doesn't know how to do is tell the people he loves. And this time, Buck decides he won't be anyone's burden.

Summary
Evan Buckley knew he had never belonged to the Buckleys; something inside him said he wasn't part of that family. Maybe it was the toy fire truck he held in his hand, which he had always had and remembered, that whispered there was something more he didn't know could exist. The initials carved into the truck, R. N., made him wish he knew what they meant. Perhaps, in time, he could find himself.
Bobby Nash wanted to be angry, but what he really felt was worry. Buck was always reckless, rebellious, and never took care of himself, which terrified Bobby. He wanted to protect him, not knowing if the real reason was because he saw Buck in the little boy he lost years ago, or perhaps the mark that looked so much like his baby son's—though he knew it could just be a coincidence, because that's how things happened: coincidences. Buck couldn't possibly be Robin Nash.

Summary
“What the hell are you doing here?” Eddie asks. It sounds like an accusation.
“I, uh— I’m sorry,” Buck stammers, scratching the back of his head sheepishly, his eyes inconspicuously darting down to Eddie’s bloodied hands. “Eddie... What happened?”
Eddie’s brows twitch. The anger behind his eyes burns hot and heavy. “No, Buck. We’re not doing this. This is literally the worst time for—” He cuts himself off, aggressively pinching the bridge of his nose. “You don’t get to— to insert yourself like this. Not anymore.”
Buck’s heart sinks like a stone in his chest.
“You chose this, remember?” Eddie spits, the words dripping with bitter finality.
As soon as Eddie says that, Buck’s mouth clicks shut. Because he doesn’t remember choosing any of this. Not the icy silences, nor the irritated glances, nor this suffocating loneliness. All he had wished for was to return to his family, not for them to abandon him.
OR: The tsunami is long over. Buck keeps drowning anyway.
