“Hey, Tommy?”
The breeze blew through Tommy and Tubbo’s hair, both scarred by explosions and scissor accidents and stress and whatever else you could think of. Tommy’s hair was disastrously thrown in a ponytail, having rushed to put an outfit together so he and Tubbo could hang out. Tubbo’s hair was a rat nest in front of his face, tangled through his ears and horns but somehow he could still see.
“Remember,” Tubbo paused, clearing his throat, “when all of our cuts and bruises were from tripping in the dirt?”

And he was about to book it, too, when Pink Panther plopped himself down right next to Tommy, motioning for him to join him. Tommy sighed, reluctantly drooping against the mountain to sit back down as Patrick Star mumbled some incoherent words to himself before smiling at him. Tommy ignored his gaze, sheepishly staring towards the other end of the beach. He didn’t want to engage in any more conversation, he just wanted to get home. Back to Dream. Back to Logsted. Back to Mushroom Henry.

Steven was really out of his depth here. Despite his coaxing, Tommy still wasn’t willing to talk at all. He didn’t necessarily want to talk to him, per say, but it was the spring! People didn’t usually visit Beach City during the spring, let alone the beach where the gems lived and chaos ensues constantly letting rumors spread. Tommy wasn’t dressed for any kind of appropriate weather, looking like he walked out of hell. He looked like he needed a bath, and Steven honestly just wanted to get this guy some help. He deserved it no matter how many insults he was throwing at him.
