You frown. Repeat, “I’m trying to stop the winter? Or, at the least, lessen it? A bit?”
A silence stretches between the beings—gods, you suppose—surrounding you, until Teo bounces on the balls of his feet and grins, eyes sparkling with untold mirth.

He grins, lowering his head as if to kiss your neck, but before his lips can press to the soft skin of your jaw, he moves closer to your ear to murmur lowly, “I’m here for something else.”
Instantly, he feels the way you stiffen in his lap, how your fingers pause their movements through his hair. It’s only a momentary lapse in your act, and he can’t deny he’s impressed by the way you shift gears quickly without breaking the sensual picture the two of you have painted for prying eyes.
“What for then?” You ditch your honeyed tone to match his serious one. You’re unable to tell exactly what he means, what else could he have come to you for?
