And it was not like in the old, dramatic stories, where a fair virgin is offered in sacrifice to a stinking beast or a temperamental god, wrath vaster than the sky. There was no prophecy, no oracle on a hill, no fire in the sky. Only Fauve, The Hidden King’s emissary, riding up to my father’s door on a hot spring day, dismounting from his rickety horse-drawn cart, and my father with shaking hands letting him in and offering him tea like any other guest.

Summary
Mark had never planned for Strahm to survive if he didn't get into the glass coffin. It'd never even crossed his mind that he could, so when the hydraulic systems fail... well, he doesn't really know what the fuck to do about that.
Now he has a very injured, very pissed off FBI agent on his hands that he may or may not have framed for murder. But maybe Mark can still try to make Strahm understand just what it is he'd been trying to tell him in the first place.
(or, mark and peter go on a road trip to get peter's arm taken care of, and learn things about each other along the way.)

Summary
After Strahm inadvertently survives the glass coffin trap and Hoffman’s plans end up thwarted, things spiral out of control, so he flees the country to evade the cornering investigation. But as luck would have it, he and Strahm, who tailed him, end up shipwrecked on a deserted island. Will their new circumstances allow for their cat and mouse game to go on, or will they find new purpose in these new lands?
Title is from Blondie's song, which fits to a t (and is also quite a banger, go listen to it if you haven't already)
