Summary
Shen Yuan has been dealt a rough hand at the beginning of his life. Then he gets sort of adopted by Shen Qingqiu, who desperately needs someone to help smooth out his interpersonal relationships. Thankfully, Shen Yuan is awesome at understanding people and what they want!
Shen Qingqiu can't decide if he regrets claiming this chaos gremlin as his own or not, but now that Shen Yuan is here, he's never letting him go. He'll have to be pried out of Shen Qingqiu's cold, dead fingers first.
Meanwhile, Luo Binghe is just caught up in the wake of both of them and trying not to be dragged under.
(Or, a drama of errors with comedic moments, exploring the growing relationship between an unforgiving misanthrope with serious issues and a traumatized kid that just wants to teach him what family means (and maybe learn it, himself))

Flushing in embarrassment, Wei Ying hurries over to A-Yuan and crouches to place his hands on his shoulders. “A-Yuan, that’s enough,” he says. “Sorry, Lan Zhan, he used to go to a different bookstore where they host regular storytimes, I think he thinks you’re the designated storyteller for the day—”
He gets to his feet, holding A-Yuan at his hip, and glances up to look at Lan Zhan. It’s an awful, terrible, horrible mistake. This close, every detail of his face is utterly inescapable.
“Story time,” says A-Yuan, lower lip wobbling dangerously.
Wei Ying glances around, finding people staring curiously at the scene unfolding before them. “A-Yuan,” he hisses urgently. “We need to go. I’ll tell you a story on the way home, okay?”
“Do you really need to go?”
Wei Ying starts at Lan Zhan’s voice. He’s still looking steadily at him, an unreadable expression in his eyes.
(Seven years after running away from home to pursue a story that would expose one of the biggest media scandals in recent years, Wei Ying runs into the last person he’s expecting to see at a quaint, forgotten bookstore he hasn’t set foot in for a very long time.)

Xiao Xingchen, Wei Ying’s managing editor, raises an eyebrow in surprise. "Lan Zhan, the best-selling author. You have heard of him, haven't you?."
"Of course I have." Wei Ying sighs in exasperation, because not only has he heard of Lan Zhan, he’s read all three of his books, including the one that literally came out a few days ago. “How the hell did you get him to agree to an interview, and with me of all people?”

Wei Ying is a freelance writer for Celestial Magazine but dreams of being an author like his idol, Lan Zhan. He's been a huge fan for years, and is more than a little taken aback when Lan Zhan agrees to do an interview with Wei Ying to discuss his new book. Little does he know, however, that he and Lan Zhan will become a lot closer than he bargained for when he took on the job of interviewing him.
