“Okay,” Vash said. “Wolfwood, I- I’m carrying.”
Wolfwood leant his body forward, sluggish gaze trying to spot a non-existent luggage on Vash’s hands or his back. It pulled a smile from Vash, however small it might be against the maw in his heart. “It’s not on me. It’s, uhm, in me.”
Wolfwood blinked. Once. Twice.
His finger pointed to Vash’s body—his stomach, to be precise.
Vash nodded, worrying his bottom lip. Wolfwood pointed to himself, then.
Another silent nod, and Vash balled his hands into fists, shoulders raised to brace himself of Wolfwood’s reactions. He’d take anything the man threw at him; every knife and disbelief and venom and possibly rage.
He didn’t brace himself for Wolfwood’s laugh.
“How much more of an angel can you be, giving me blessings right and left in my life?”
Wolfwood has left Vash a blessing. Or more precisely, two blessings.

“God, Spikey. How long has it been since you’ve taken care of these?” The hand on his nape pets over his hair, the other resuming its reverent preening, tucking feathers back into place with a gentleness that makes him ache.
He whimpers and buries his head into the side of Nicholas’s throat, tears building in his eyes again. He presses closer to him, shifting until he can get his legs around Wolfwood’s waist, ankles locking behind his back.
(Or, Vash hates his wings. Wolfwood doesn’t.)
