Feyd-Rautha opened the door and walked inside. The breeder tensed. His lithe body coiled tightly, same as the sidewinder snakes that danced over the dunes, and he inhaled sharply. Feyd took measured steps forward. With each inch closer, the captured man, his newest acquisition, went more and more rigid.
“Joe said you’re a breeder,” Feyd said, sliding his gaze across the man’s body. “Don’t look like one, though.”
“I’m not anyone’s anything,” he snapped, biting at the air.
Feyd quirked his head. A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. “Brave,” he rasped, drawing the word out. “But I’m afraid you’re mine now, darlin’. And I’d like to know what kind of gift I’ve been given.”

Before he was named Harkonnen and long before he was inducted as Na-Baron, he was Feyd-Rautha Rabban, the unimportant second son of an unimportant Count ruling over an unimportant fiefdom. The History of Empire would remember him as the most prolific killer in human history.
At the center of Imperial power, he would encounter another who he was inextricably drawn to. A boy with green eyes and a hawk as his heraldry. A boy that challenged Feyd at every step.
It would be the first but unfortunately not be the last time Feyd-Rautha met Paul Atreides. Were the currents of time kinder, their relation would have ended after that singular meeting. But theirs was a union ten thousand years in the making. The shackles of fate are not quite so easy to break and the Known Universe bled for it.
Or, Feyd is down bad for Paul, Paul is equally obsessed, and everyone else suffers.

Jessica gives birth to a son instead of a daughter despite explicitly given orders. It should have altered the path forced upon her, the sacrifice that was to be made of her child in the hands of a brutal and violent house.
