A giggle escaped Jisung's mouth and Hyunjin looked at him, puzzled and slightly offended.
‘I- I’m sorry.’ Jisung sputtered, trying to contain himself.
Hyunjin huffed and furrowed his thick brows.
‘It’s just,’ Jisung reached out a hand and batted the fluffy ear still clipped into Hyunjin’s hair. 'You're trying to seduce me dressed as a catboy.’
‘It’s not working?’ Hyunjin pouted.
‘Oh my baby, don't look at me like that! I just can’t take you seriously.’ Jisung jingled the little bell around Hyunjin's throat with another stifled laugh.
Sitting back on his heels Hyunjin regarded him thoughtfully, eyes roaming over the ears and collar still adorning Jisung too. So at odds with his scruffy band tee and guitar pick necklace.
‘I don't know,’ he hummed. 'Don't you think it's kinda .. hot?’

The door creaked open, and Chan's presence entered the room like a sudden breeze. Hyunjin's gaze snapped towards the entrance, his heart pounding in his chest. He watched as Chan's eyes darted between the shattered mirror and him on the bed, a confusion evident in his expression. For a fleeting moment, their eyes locked, and then recognition dawned in Chan's features. It was as if the pieces fell into place, and the lines of worry etched themselves onto Chan's brow.
“You’re supposed to be at practice.” The words felt like sandpaper in Hyunjin’s mouth, they came out hazy and unfamiliar.
“I never leave anyone behind.”

As if every mark was made with artistic intention. A raging display of self-hatred, and pain- and what better way to express self-hatred than carving out an abstract portrait on the artist himself? A display of destruction in a feeble attempt of fixing himself.
