Do you ever wonder what life would be when it’s all over?” she’d asked Cressida one afternoon. They had finished their work early and were now helping themselves to the leftover bits from the strawberry jam.
Cressida remained silent. She did wonder how things would be. Papa would be back home, along with his business partners and their never ending lines of sons she “really must meet”. She’d have to go back too, say goodbye to Mrs. Bridgerton and the farm, say goodbye to Eloise and the futures she’d written down in her journal.
Creloise but its 1940s England and Cressida has been conscripted to work on the Bridgerton farm.

The most awful person in the world isn't Napoleon, but the insufferable, vain, and extremely rude Cressida Cowper. Unfortunately, the confined space seems to be having a strange effect on both of them. Eloise can't really explain why what happens next happens next, but nor can she stop thinking about it.
