His dad gave him a look and EJ knew. The kind of trouble that lost him his mom. The kind of trouble that had ruined his life. He sighed, “I see.”
“Yeah. We might have to go.”
“Move?” EJ asked incredulously, “In the middle of the school year?”
Rubbing his forehead, his dad sat down on his bed with a heavy sigh, “Maybe. I’ll see if I can postpone, if they can handle it until the summer.”
“What exactly is the issue?”
“There are wolves there. We know the danger of that, but they haven’t ever been a problem. Your aunt tells me they’re building a pack.”

Mitch hummed, “Yeah, trying to get everything set up, I’ll go live right before we start.”
Before Willy could respond, someone interrupted, “Where’s Auston?”
“He’s sleeping,” Mitch answered hesitantly, not wanting to give too much away.
“Go wake him up,” Travis urged, sounding mildly disappointed that Auston seemingly wasn’t going to make it.
He hummed again and tried to play it off, “He’s not good with being woken up, so I’m not gonna piss him off.”

They settled on bar stools, watching Alex cook, and Kirby stirred his coffee quietly. Adam nudged him gently, “How did yesterday go?”
Kirby exhaled, frustrated, “Not great.”
Face darkening, Adam leaned forward, “Explain.”
“She just,” Kirby paused, trying to find the right words, “I don’t know if she doesn't fully get the gravity of the situation, how important this was to me, or what. I know she missed me, I missed her too, but I felt like he had a good chance, and I lost it. And she was all welcome back and smiles. I guess I just didn’t need that right off the bat.”
Alex hummed thoughtfully, “Explain it to her.”
Shaking his head, Adam cut in before Kirby could answer, “Nah, bro. She pulled this same shit during the playoffs. If she didn’t get it then, and she still hasn’t gotten it now, she probably never will.”

Henry dislikes doing things that he doesn’t excel at, this includes but is not limited to; baking, interior decorating and acting normal around drop-dead gorgeous men who have eyes he can practically dive into and drown in.
Unfortunately for Henry, his new job involves all three.
But Alex is straight, clearly, given how he flirts with every woman that comes through the door, which is fine.

They show up with just a slight pain so you didn’t accidentally look down one day and find your shin had been entirely covered in a bright red bouquet of whatever flower the cosmos decided to permanently etch onto your skin.
Alex has long since made peace with his flower being a fucking type of mint. Technically. His skin is decorated in several places with long strands of lavender. They’ve all faded now, a ghost along his skin, barely visible if you weren’t looking, though they never fully go away.

Every time he met Dream was a bright light. A little piece of stardust, torn from the sky of some place and some time and smashed against his crumbled mental timeline, until it made its own little beacon to guide him there.

Today, though, he’s watching in delight as a massive bouquet of roses makes its way through the office, the delivery guy carefully weaving between cubicles as he heads for Nora’s desk. Last week, Nora had revealed to the office one of his embarrassing college hook up stories that involved a thong and sitting cold and shivering in a police station while he waited to be picked up. Today—today he’s sicking Nadine and Alberta on Nora as payback.
His gaze flicks over to Nora where she’s sitting at her desk oblivious to her incoming doom, and then back to the delivery guy. Anticipation, hot and excited, bundles up in Alex’s gut as he clears the final turn of cubicles, and just as Alex is about to grin, wicked and delighted at Nora, the delivery guy makes another turns and comes to a stop at the completely wrong desk.
And then he sets the flowers down and leaves.
