It's 1954, and Freddie Stern, an assistant engineer in the control booth at radio station KWKH Shreveport runs into a young, 19-year old musician from Memphis named Elvis Presley backstage at her work during The Louisiana Hayride broadcast. They form a bond, and get to know each other as the Hayride becomes a launching pad for his first tours, singles sales and exposure to audiences listening at home across the country. Absolute fan fic based on Elvis' two year tenure at the Louisiana Hayride from October 1954 to December 1956, as he goes from that sweet dork planning to marry his girlfriend when she graduates high school to that swaggering superstar dating showgirls and movie stars as he breaks hearts across the country.... angst, smut and absurdity to ensue.
