I got sucked into this from the first scene, and then felt entirely part of this universe until it was over. This has the same magic that Like Everything Glows does for me, in that I was so absorbed in their world that I couldn't think about anything else. What blew me away, apart from how sweet Jimin and Jungkook were (they were perfect), was how fleshed out every single character is. I was invested in everyone, in all their pain and their happiness and their grief and their resolutions. How Jimin was woven into everyone else's story was so masterfully done. Absolutely in love with this.

I loved the atmosphere. You feel the shifting seasons so clearly in the descriptions, as well as the plant life that's so visceral through Jimin's perspective. Jimin and Jungkook are so sweet, and everyone else comes wonderfully alive as well. Found family done beautifully.

Even just the mentions of Jungkook's long, wavy hair constantly up in a ponytail would've made this for me, but then on top of that it's one of the loveliest getting back together fics I've ever read. It's soft and hopeful while also not shying away from the hard parts. The mutual pining is so good, and both Jimin and Jungkook here own my whole heart. I'll reread this a lot.

Summary
When Jungkook, a beta, is tasked with taking care of Taehyung during his preheat, he's determined to do it well. He desperately wants to show his boyfriends, his pack, that he can do a good job- that he can be good. He feeds Taehyung by hand, keeps him hydrated, obediently fetches pain medications and lets himself be used as a human teddy bear. Anything to make the preheat easier.
But then...suddenly, Jungkook can't stop thinking about how the nest Taehyung built is all wrong. The omega is asleep, but he wouldn't mind if Jungkook fixed it, right? Just moved some of these blankets into the right spot, where it's so much cozier? Maybe he'd even be happy, proud that Jungkook knows just how to fix the nest for them both to share. Sure he's ignoring the burning heat in his stomach, the dizziness floating behind his eyes, but that's not important. The nest is important. It has to be safe, has to be perfect.
When Taehyung wakes up to a completely different nest, a sick packmate, and an unfamiliar scent, he realizes Jungkook /might/ not be a beta anymore.
