Summary
Everything in Billy’s life changed the night of his dad’s first date with Susan. He was attacked and bitten by a monster on the beach, then he met Max. He’s slowly changing into a monster just like the one that bit him, and that would be terrifying if it wasn’t taking a backseat to the redheaded girl he can’t seem to get out of his head. She’s too young for him, she’s the daughter of his father’s girlfriend, and he’s never been any good for anybody, so she’ll probably only get hurt in the end. There are a lot of reasons why he should leave her alone… but he’s not going to.

He hums and drawls, “Max, huh? Weird name for a little girl.”
Max’s face screws up tighter, little, white teeth flashing.
“It’s short for Maxine, and I’m not a little girl, you jerk, I’m 16.”
Lifting his beer in a toast and nodding like he’s tipping a hat, he says with a grin, “Good to know. I’m Billy, by the way.”
“Haven’t known a Billy since I was like five,” she scoffs.
“Yea, well, it beats ‘William’ or ‘Will’ so.” Billy tips the aluminum can towards his mouth, throat bare. Max pointedly does not watch his Adam’s apple bob through a few swallows. When he pulls off with a satisfied gasp, Billy jerks his head to the couch again. “So you gonna sit or what? I don’t bite.”
His grin and wink imply otherwise.

Dividing your time and space between two omegas can be a hassle, you know. From the wide open door as Carlos left, he saw Charles watch Carlos go, his legs hanging from the bed’s edge. He just caught a glimpse, but the fresh bite, in all its glory: dried blood and aggressive swelling, was noticeable from a distance. Charles winced as he smiled at Carlos; he looked like he was in pain. But all he remembers thinking is, God, they were right. He’s devastatingly beautiful.

“I found them,” he whispers, his voice breaking around the words.
Then he pulls the trigger.
