Clad in nothing but a white towel wrapped around his waist, the man leans casually against the glass partition, watching him with quiet intent.
The man’s body is covered in scars. From his torso all the way to the long sinew of his arms. Herman has to struggle not to do a double-take. Distantly, his subconscious briefly considers what it would feel like to trace them all beneath the pads of his fingertips. He quickly perishes the thought.

His Grandmother always told him that someday, the world would recognize his gift ... instead, they made him a janitor. Herman could've walked away, could've spewed self-important nonsense about the company not knowing what they were missing, etc. But no. Grandmother also said that nothing in life is easy, and if you are forced to work your way up from the bottom, you damn well better do it!
