It really doesn’t come as a surprise when Deku confesses. What does is the realization that Bakugo wouldn’t mind being in that kind of relationship with him. He can’t say his own feelings for his childhood friend are of a romantic or sexual nature, but he really can’t imagine a life without him. It just makes sense for them to live their lives together, side by side. As they always have.
