Hi all, I took a crack at writing an english version of this amazing opening as a tribute to the release of Violet Evergarden: The Movie on Netflix.
I haven't fully translated the entire song yet and I took some heavy creative liberty for some of the lines. That being said, I tried to follow the literary devices and lyrical structure that Miho Karasawa wrote, such as the line below:
そこ にある ばかり つのる ばかり
Soko niaru bakari tsunoru bakariwhere bakari is repeated.

Written for Nana Week 2021.
Title is pretty self explanatory. If you haven't seen the end of the anime (or something like Chapter 40 in the manga) then this is major spoilers.Okay, spoilers ahead.
After Nana O does her whole spiel about how Nobu is a wuss and leaves him in room 707, Hachi decides to go to the fireworks festival with them and stops by (since Nana O. tricked her thinking that Nobu wasn't there).
Nobu being the wuss he is, doesn't open the door to have his moment with her. Hachi leaves, and Nobu's left completely broken.But what if Nobu opened the door?
This was going to be a choose your own adventure leading up to the fireworks festival. Using Twine, I was going to write alternative choices to each of the scenes. These choices would affect the characters' emotions, which would carry throughout the adventure since Twine supports variables!
But of course I put all my effort into that instead of writing.
So here's a copy paste of the only event anyone wants to read; no proofing, no css style. It's whatever blabs I could put together over the week.
So enjoy...I guess?

Summary
Violet Evergarden finds herself taking an unexpected assignment as a handmaiden for Miss Isabella York while she attends a prestigious women's academy. It's a far cry from Violet's typical work writing letters and made more complicated by the secrets they must keep.
This story is a re-imagining of the movie Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll. It explores what might happen if Violet walked a different path and eventually reciprocated Amy's feelings. The story will go beyond their time at the school and expand on the adversity they have to overcome if they want to be together.
Written in a way that is (hopefully) fandom blind friendly.
