It was a straightforward arrangement. Her curiosity is satiated, and his lust is satisfied. Casual, no strings attached. Time it right so they don't get caught. Careful to avoid certain types of consequences. She's smart enough to know that, and he's been doing this long enough with others to be cautious during every instance of it.
Except these sorts of things are too good to be true, aren't they? There always has to be a catch.
The catch being feelings, well, that's just the tip of the iceberg. But maybe they could've avoided this had they noticed sooner. Noticed the growing fondness persisting outside the bedroom as the days rolled by.
And holding strong, even years later.
