Summary
1521- Aziraphale has been working as an interpreter for the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés in his mission to bring Mexico under the heel of Spanish colonialism and the Roman Catholic Church. When they arrive in the wondrous city of Tenochtitlán, the angel is shocked to discover that Cortés and his invading army have been invited to stay. Even more disconcerting is that invitation was the suggestion of a demon posing as the Aztec high priest for the god Quetzalcóatl, the winged serpent. Naively believing peaceful coexistence is a possibility, Aziraphale and Crowley bear witness to the Toxcatl massacre and the Fall of Tenochtitlán.

Summary
Aziraphale leaves for Heaven to help with The Second Coming, but not everything Upstairs is as it seems. Crowley runs away from his problems until he is suddenly summoned by a trio of unlikely friends trying to save the world (again). Through misadventures, imprisonments, immortal attempted suicide, lucid dreaming, dealing with teenagers, and an off-putting amount of bebop, an angel and a demon try to find their way back to each other as Heaven and Hell close in around them. (I'm aware that this starts off slow. It starts getting good around chapters 5-6, but the Epilogue might be my favorite part.)

The season 2 finale was gutting so I'm taking these two ineffable idiots and patching things up between them. Slowly. With angst. And Muriel. And ultimately, a happy ending.
This kicks off from the end of season 2. First fanfic so hopefully someone enjoys reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Summary
Aziraphale shows up to Crowley's flat, two years after returning to Heaven, asking for Crowley's help. Crowley isn't exactly receptive.
“I would never abandon humanity,” Aziraphale says, dark and low. “I’ve already stopped Armageddon once. I will not let it happen again.”
Crowley takes a step back. Aziraphale follows, fire burning in his eyes.
“I’m not the one who left first, Crowley. Remember that before accusing me of choosing sides. I watched you turn your back on me and walk out of that bookshop long before I went to Heaven.”
“You wanted me to go back there!” Crowley bares his teeth, angrier now. “You wanted me to go back to the place that cast me out, that tried to destroy the world once, that tried to destroy you!”
“And you were asking me to leave it all behind — Heaven, the humans, the bookshop — to go to the stars!”
“But we would have been together!”
“Yes, together when the universe ended because we weren’t here to stop it!”

Summary
It was a truth universally acknowledged that an angel in possession of no memory must be in want of a wife.
No, that was the wrong book. The wrong line. Aziraphale frowned.
“What,” the gentleman before him asked, “and I mean what, are you doing here?”
-----------------
Or, two years after things fall apart, Aziraphale shows up at Crowley's doorstep without his memories. The easy part is getting it back, the hard part is getting them back together.

Summary
“Hold on, hold on.” Crowley leaned forward, certain he’d heard right but unable to comprehend it. “Just what are you trying? You’re an angel, not a demon.”
“Yes, but we’re from the same stock, aren’t we? You can do it, I don’t see why I shouldn’t be able to.”
“Well, I can do it, but I’ve never actually possessed a body, I don’t know how it works,” Crowley said over the thudding in his chest. Millennia of denying any similarity between the two of them, and now here Aziraphale was, trying to do something unheard of for angels.
“It can’t be that different from having a regular corporation. Pity I can't inhabit yours,” Aziraphale said with an awkward half-laugh.
Now that was an idea.
Crowley straightened up. “Why not?”

Summary
1941 is the London Blitz and the year that MI5 really comes into its own with the now infamous ‘double cross’ system. The service keep tabs on suspects, root out enemy agents and try to turn them into doubles.
Anthony J Crowley is fucking great at this job. He can be sneaky, underhanded and damn ruthless but also charming and kind. It’s what makes him good at turning.
Aziraphale is just a regular Soho bookseller who loves his shop and books and good food and wine when he’s approached by a woman claiming to be MI5, wanting to recruit him for espionage. The poor man is too trusting and gets the shock of his life when he’s approached by a charming but dangerous-looking man also claiming to be MI5.
Crowley recruits Aziraphale to double cross a double crosser and Aziraphale takes to espionage like a duck to water.
Danger, hijinks, and sex ensue.

That was her nanny. Her son’s dowdy, sunglasses-wearing nanny, who dressed like a Victorian dominatrix and towered over both Harriet and Thaddeus. And she was wearing the slutty black gown that Harriet hadn’t had the courage to try on herself.
“Oh my God,” she heard herself say.
The nanny and her gentleman friend both turned to her, surprise blooming across their faces.
“Oh shit,” said the gentleman friend, which was rich coming from the human incarnation of a marshmallow.
Or, Harriet Dowling makes a deal with—well, not quite the devil.

Summary
Crowley has never seen the name on Aziraphale's chest. He doesn't know the syllables of it, the shape of the transliterated letters. It doesn't matter. He'd gotten quite drunk once, sometime in the fourteenth century, and asked Aziraphale point-blank if his name was there.
It was not.
(He doesn't think about Aziraphale's name on his own chest, growing darker every year.)

Summary
Aziraphale has read every book in his shop at least once. He has reread some of his favored volumes dozens of times, has memorized whole great swaths of them. If his own words are insufficient to convince Crowley of his sincerity, then perhaps the words of others can!
(He might have the decency to ask the books what they thought of this plan. The books had been watching the two of them for over a hundred years, and certainly had a great deal to say on the matter. But Aziraphale neglects to consult them, and thus will be very unprepared for what happens next.)
Back on earth, Aziraphale tries to apologize.
