The air is slightly warm, humid, and smells like soil, it feels so unfamiliar and their skin is crawling. They clutch their doll close to themselves, running little fingers over the worn fabric and uneven stitches, it’s grounding.
Rain begins to come down in thin drizzles, and Q’s suddenly afraid. Do they even know where they’re going?
Anywhere but back there.

If he opens his eyes, he still has an extremely low vision, but at least light is coming in. How fortunate, right? He should be grateful. He should be so grateful that his entire face wasn't completely destroyed, that he has the opportunity to get better, that he didn't fucking die the way Teruko or countless of others did, that he was spared from the vampirism, that he gets to return home.
