Summary
Jason had come to dinner today. He’s allowing himself to be hopeful about this. They have dinner together every Sunday and everyone tries to be there, the whole bunch of them. Dick had missed those rare dinners with Bruce and Jason when both of them (himself and Bruce that is, though that’s changed recently) could stomach to be in the same room. Bigger table now, but Jason still sat at it.
“I’m leaving Gotham,” Jason blurts halfway through dinner, the first words he’s ever said this whole night, and Dick can feel every ounce of hope drain out of his body the same way Tim spits his drink out at Cass across him.
Or five times they had to watch Jason’s life through pictures, and one time he let them see it.
