Just as Keonhee downed the last of his glass of blood, an intoxicating scent bled in from elsewhere in the manor. It was sweet and tart like citrus, with an undertone of something more woodsy. The scent was accompanied by familiar tones of the oils used to grease rusty cogs and the copper that never left the inventor's fingertips.
Flashes of memories danced in the forefront of Keonhee's mind. The scent of his woodsy citrus as Keonhee buried his head into his neck, the familiar scents of oils and copper on fingertips that faintly brushed Keonhee's cheeks, and pink lips that had been nibbled upon too much as he concentrated on his inventions. Keonhee had never gotten to taste those lips, to feel those fingertips trace his body and teach him the meaning of true pleasure, to breathe him in whatever chance he got.
Three years may have separated them, but Keonhee would know that scent anywhere: Hwanwoong was in the manor.
