Athras and Tallis aren't friends.
They work together because they have to, they're two out of four parts of Unit Viper, a team sent to work against the Dread Wolf.
They happen to sleep together on a regular basis, but it's purely physical. Just taking care of a need. Anything more was unnecessary and asking for hurt. Athras goes to meet Tallis as usual but things don't follow their typical routine.

incredibly tasty sex, really captures what an odd dynamic they have in general and how that would translate to a sexual relationship too. the emotions that come up here are well written and the back and forth of their feelings, playing it down and then it inevitably coming back to bite them in the ass is comedic but also just true. the things they feel are inevitable lol

just. wow. cant believe i forgot to sub in my binging. i do not want to lose this fic. it captures the complexities of emotion, relationships and trauma and the ways it affects us and the way we interact with the people we care about in a very real way. the narrative starts as something lighthearted and fun but very quickly becomes something so full of depth and color. introverted really has a way of writing human emotion, fear and vulnerability in a way thats truly something special.
also yay im the beta reader for this starting in chapter 36! its such a joy working with introverted
