To the naked eye, Simon was an extremely lucky boy, for he could hear the thoughts of everyone around him. To anyone else, it would be a blessing. To him, it’s a curse that weighs upon his shoulders for as long as he lives.
Only once Simon found himself constantly experiencing odd time jumps did he begin to pay attention to those around him. His head flooded with thoughts of hundreds of boys’ minds though one stood out above all others. A brain that seemed to be focused solely on Simon.
“He’s here! I didn’t think he’d make it.”
“He’s battered again, I swear if I see his father in the flesh-”
“He looks so beautiful today.”
“Who made him cry?”Well now Simon’s interest is piqued. Who in the world would be so infatuated with Simon Cambourne that they never once thought of themselves when he was near?

Summary
After pulling Simon out of guaranteed death, Jack is faced with conflicting thoughts regarding the situation around him on the island, and these thoughts follow him even as they're all rescued, and faced with the onslaught of war.
Or, Simon tries to tell everyone about the beast, fails, but gets saved after Jack recognizes it's him, then spends am entire summer trying to share every breath Jack takes before the inevitable return of autumn and the new school term.
Also I gave Simon a sister cause he low-key needs someone to tell him that it's okay to be abnormally attached to someone
