Denki would have sighed with joy if he wasn’t caught out by one of the names on that list. Instead, he frowned because he knew that name, but where from? It was something in the back of his mind, something from months past that he’d forgotten, or not paid enough attention to. A spark of recognition that was slowly beginning to ignite –
“The hell are they?” Bakugou was frowning too, and he could almost see the cogs turning in his brain.
Shishikura.
Shiketsu… Shishikura.
He watched, confused, as Bakugou’s eyes darkened into a sudden scowl of recognition and –
Eyes. It snagged in his mind, flipped a switch, brought up memories from months back to a bridge, a bridge in an arena, an arena with Bakugou by his side and Kirishima on the floor in a ball of –
His blood ran cold.
Denki knew that name, and it must have hit Bakugou at the same moment, because the next second they were both hollering at the top of their lungs –
“WE’RE WITH MEAT BOY?!”

Or, Jirou's upset, Ashido and Kaminari talk, the overnight trip occurs, there are some realisations, a huge monster, and Jirou finally realises something.

“I mean,” he begins, voice on the wrong side of strangled. There are tears in his eyes, and Shouto panics: did he do that? “There’s no pressure. I just--” Then his hands drop and he scrambles for the parchment, and the first thing Shouto notices is how cold his fingers are without him. “God, what does it--right, uh--the celebration is in… Is tomorrow, I got the date totally wrong, this is an absolute mess--”
“Izuku.”
“I’ve done this all backwards, I should have--”
“Izuku.”
“My mother will be mortified. Ochako is going to tear my balls off, and--” Izuku’s voice cracks when Shouto’s thumb swipes under his eye, catching a tear on the pad. His skin is soft and warm, red from embarrassment, and Shouto’s caught tracing the freckles dotted along his round cheekbones. “Shouto?”
The honesty in Izuku’s voice is palpable, enough to capture Shouto’s attention in a snap of his eyes. He meets the forest of hazelnut and green, drops of yellow like sunshine between leaves and dewdrops. “You’re being ridiculous.” Izuku’s mouth snaps shut. He can see the cogs spinning inside that maverick mind, and shakes his head. “I’ll go with you.”
“Oh.”

“No.” She steels her voice to certainty and writes again. “Just—just tell me where you find the URLs with the codes in.”
“Will do, ma’am,” he replies with easy sarcasm, and gets to work.

“It’s just for five minutes!” Eijirou whines, already backing out past the drapes and the beige matting plastered to the pillars. The grass is steps away, fresh air a breath more, and his expression is nothing short of coy. “I promise they won’t notice. We’ll be back for our first dance in no time, no sweat.”

There’s the crescendo of a gasp before she looks around as if the covering of her glove won’t spill the secret. “They say he’s come here from England. He was never caught, you know.”
“Never caught?”
“Never.”
The chorus of giggles slides down Izuku’s throat like warm bile. The fingers around the mortar—chemist’s hands—itch to correct them, to expel the legend as myth. He is not Jack the Ripper, he’s no murderer without purpose.

Summary
Seated in the darkness, is exactly who he expected it to be.
They catch each other’s eyes through the dim, dancing in an endless sea of impasses with every glint of the light. Even in the daytime, those eyes are dull, detached, and the night is no different to their insentience. Not like when they first met.
The door clicks shut, and the room is plunged into the depths of the night. It’s like a cavern; a deep darkness that toys with the childish fears at the back of Katsuki’s mind, a feeling of not being watched as much as hunted. The overhead light blinks when Katsuki snaps his fingers, but it doesn’t bring life, only a staleness thickening the air. When Katsuki turns to look Todoroki Shouto in the eye with his teeth bared, it’s nothing short of feral.
“Get out of my fucking house.”
