Husk's ear twitched towards the sound of the hotel door clicking open.
"Sweet or sour?" Husker asked quietly, not having to turn around to face the sinner to know it could only be Angel's heels stumbling through the heavy front doors of the Hotel.
"Just pass me the bottle, suga'. Noth'n fancy t'night." Angel replied, flopping down on a stool and draping himself across the bar.

Angel had made many questionable decisions during his time in hell, Valentino being one of them. He loved Valentino, he was sure of it. But he soon realized after moving into the Hazbin Hotel and being surrounded by the mildly psychotic band of sinners that resided there, that maybe something needed to change. Was he really happy being Val’s toy for… eternity?

The worst part of living with Val?
The boredom, at least this go around.
Sure, there's the abuse, the borderline torture, the yelling, the fighting, and the fucking – sometimes all of them at once – but mostly, it's just Val being Val.
Then again, maybe anyone can get accustomed to anything. Angel suffers, he cries, he screams and self-destructs, and it's all just another Tuesday. His hurt is practically a marketable skill, top of his resume. The pain is mostly dulled at this point, and all Angel feels is bored to tears.

How Angel is coping, after that finale. A reunion with a familiar client has unexpected results.

Summary

one of the first fics in the fandom to really reel me in and have me re-reading time and time again. definitely one of those stories I pick up to read with a warm mug during the fall when it starts getting colder out. this work feels like a warm, (semi-angsty) hug <3
