Jongdae doubts for a second. Personally, he's not really in love. This thing is more of a… fling. Something to pass the time. Maybe just something to break the tension between two people. So, no, he doesn't really sound lovesick. Maybe he sounds like someone with a semi-active sex-life is supposed to sound like.
"Not really," Jongdae says. Baekhyun clearly doesn't believe him, if the way his eyebrows raise and his lips purse say anything. "I've been seeing a guy, but that's about it. I don't think anything's happening between us."
Or, Jongdae is a little too dumb to realize he's very much in love with Chanyeol.

Out of nowhere, straight from forever ago, there is Chanyeol, bright eyes filled with kindness. Scary, gentle Chanyeol. Comfortable, uncertain Chanyeol, because Jongdae doesn’t understand how he fits within everything else, and it unsettles him. Chanyeol is too good to let go of, though, so Jongdae doesn’t dwell on his thoughts. He just hums, and the afternoon resumes; so easy to slip into.

This story is based off She’s Dreaming (the lovely song written by Jongdae 🥰) I just wanted to write a she’s dreaming AU because I found the song lyrics so interesting!
