Summary
Eddie Munson was just barely visible in his seat across from Steve, most of his head covered by the yellowing lamination of his opened menu; he held it fanned out and high, nose poking into the center of it, really just soaking it all in.
They had smoked two full blunts in Eddies van— strategically parked in the very back corner of the parking lot— prior to this.
Or: Steve and Eddie reevaluate the reasons they’re spending so much time together.

Summary
“You hate it.” Eddie shook his head and laughed a little. “It’s okay. I know it’s not your style. Maybe i can invest in a,” he paused to fake gag, “Tears for Fears album for when you come over, or something.”
“No! No, I don’t hate it!” Steve protested. “I just haven’t really been paying attention to it. I guess it is a little… intense. And Tears for Fears is good! You’re just pretentious.” Steve rolled his eyes jokingly while Eddie hit him halfheartedly on the arm.
“I am not! And even if I was, so what? I can be pretentious about metal. It’s good music! Hey! It is!” Eddie play wrestled with Steve while the other boy made graphic fake vomiting gestures.
Or: Steve and Eddie get high together and end up making some confessions.

Summary
“Okay, you caught me,” Robin says. The curve of her smile colors her voice, prettying it up for the radiant moon that always smiles back. “The truth is I like when you come to my rescue.”
Nancy presses her lips together, ghosting down Robin’s forearm until her fingers lock into the empty spaces where Robin’s fingers are not.
“Not ‘cause I’m a damsel in distress,” Robin goes on, in a quieter, breathier tone. “Just…’cause.”
“Just ‘cause,” Nancy repeats.
Robin looks at Nancy. Nancy looks at Robin. There are so many stars in the Hawkins night sky, but all Nancy’s thinking about is the number of constellations she could trace in Robin’s freckles if she could only see them.

Summary
The thing was dead.
Very dead. Extremely dead. So dead that Robin was pretty sure it had been dead for at least thirty seconds now, which was approximately twenty-nine seconds longer than Robin had expected to be alive, so that was—that was good. Great. Fantastic. They'd won. They were alive. The monster was not.
OR: The one where Nancy Wheeler invents a reward system, Robin Buckley becomes emotionally attached to a crowbar.

Summary
"That's—Nancy, that's where we broadcast—"
"I don't care." Nancy was already moving toward it, pulling Robin with her, and Robin went because apparently she would follow Nancy Wheeler anywhere, even into bad decisions.
OR: Nancy Wheeler gets turned on by target practice, and decides Robin's face is the solution. Robin is not complaining.

Summary
People keep finding ways to pair up. Quiet conversations, stolen moments, honest attempts to say all the things that had been left unsaid, or to reaffirm a connection, to say "I see you" and "I love you" and "I just wanted you to know that you have been some of the best parts of my life." Robin tries to find the words to say what she means, and Nancy lets her.
