Internships and Mezou don’t tend to mesh well. Usually, he just gets brushed off, verbally harassed a few times and the dirty work is pushed onto him by his quirkist temporary colleagues. He learned to ignore and swallow down their thoughtless comments, because usually, that’s all they ever did. Not this time. No. This time they’re sabotaging his career. Ever so subtley, by giving him an old cold case for his entire internship, to solve on his own. Mezou isn’t quick to rage, but even he has his limit. He gets help from a somewhat unlikely source.

The voice sounds faint but is actually very close, as Kageyama would expect it to be. Somewhere to his right, about on eye level, and his hand, despite everything, goes in search for its owner the moment it registers. Like a reflex, he thinks, grasping at air and that, too, he expects. Sort of.
“Kageyama, you’re in my face,” comes the irritated comment, and Kageyama draws back immediately.
“Oh. Sorry.”
“Yeah.”
A terrible accident robs Kageyama of his eyesight.That same accident robs Hinata of his life.
It doesn’t mean they can’t still be together. For a little while, at least...

Denki is smarter than anyone believes, more capable and competent than one may assume of him. He has known the pain and heartbreak of losing someone close to him and, well...
He is very ambitious, let's keep it at that for now. It's just that his ambitions aren't what others expect of him, and not for the reasons they expect either.

Summary
There were six things that Izuku knew to define his life. One: he was quirkless. Two: the world seemed to hate him for it. Three: his mom wasn’t able to help him anymore. Four: he was going to have to figure it out. Five: some people looked at him and understood what kind of position he was in, even at a young age.
And six: the world had robbed him of his ability to grow up normally.
Izuku was quirkless in a world that was no longer built for people without any superpower at all. Though the numbers said that there was still a decent population of quirkless people alive today, those numbers did no transfer over to Japan—as twenty percent of the whole world did not mean twenty percent of one country. What it did mean was that for the people who were alive, quirkless, and desperate to survive, well, it meant you dug yourself a grave and laid down.
(or: as long as there are communities of quirkless people, however damaged and messed up, there would be a culture for izuku to learn.)
