Aka, in an alternate backstory to a dnd au I'm writing with my sibling, Ranboo is sold to a human lab when his captors realize they can't harness his teleportation powers for themselves. Las Nevadas takes offense to the idea of any living creature trapped in such a cruel environment, so when they're already in the area and realize there's a kid in there they swoop in to save the day.
Slight problem- no one knows what the fuck Ranboo is or how to get him home. Hurt/comfort and found family ensue as little by little the learn how to communicate. Think of this like an alien abduction au but instead of sci-fi it's fantasy.
