Finally, nearing the bottom of the notifications, Joe spots a new commenter. He gets a handful of new followers most days, but they usually either lurk or have been commenting for ages already. This guy isn’t a new follower, and Joe hasn’t seen him comment before. A quick glance at his profile shows that he is following Joe, and has been for a while - he likes almost everything Joe posts. He’s never said anything before, though.
This guy, @dj_nova, has commented, Excuse me, is that a quote from Inferno? below Joe’s deadlift video.

"Jaskier, how drunk are you?" he asks, and Jaskier breathes a laugh into Geralt's shoulder.
"I am excellently drunk, Geralt, I've done a very good job of it. I am as drunk as a Skelligen skunk."
"There are no skunks on Skellige."
"I am as drunk as a Skelligen monk, then."
Which is fairly drunk, all things considered; Skelligens don't fuck around about that sort of thing.
Geralt has been foolish about many things in his long life, and every time to his detriment; he'll not make the mistake of deluding himself that someone like Jaskier, with all the world open to him and everything to offer in return, would ever really choose Geralt's company in that way.
(Geralt may not be a reliable narrator of his own life.)

Contrary to popular belief, Jaskier knew when he’d fucked up. Sure, the knowledge usually led to him digging a bigger hole for himself, but he was at least self-aware enough to know that he was, at heart, a massive idiot.
Which was why he was currently knocking on the door to Geralt’s apartment, a box of chocolates held awkwardly in one hand.
“Geralt!” he greeted as soon as the other man opened the door. He held out the chocolates first as a preemptive peace offering, knowing well that he’d need it. “Date me.”
Geralt shut the door in his face.
