Hancock sneaks off while the others are occupied. Finds that Nora hadn’t gone far. She’s just outside the bar with a cigarette between her fingers.
“Oh, you’re being bad,” he announces his presence.
She rolls her eyes at him teasingly. “No one will ever believe you.”
He grins. Accepts the cig when she offers it and takes drag. To see her take it back and put it between her lips when his mouth had just been on it makes him feel…some sort of way. Dizzy? Fluttery? Something dumb.
“Sorry about,” she gestures towards the bar, “that.” She lets out a soft sigh. “Piper doesn’t have a filter when she’s sober, let alone buzzed.”
“Was that actually the conversation?”
She presses her lips together. “Not so bluntly, but…”
